Behind a white picket fence, a neat lawn and a garden that has clearly been loved for years, the original 1950s home takes the front position on a block of only two, right in the middle of Sunshine. That single detail changes everything about the way this one lives. Your own frontage, your own gate, your own front garden, and the street presence of a home rather than the anonymity of a unit.
Inside, the era shows off. Timber floorboards run warm underfoot, ceilings sit high above decorative cornice, and the living room stretches out beneath a wide window that frames the greenery out front. A decorative fireplace gives the room its centrepiece, while ducted heating and a split system keep things comfortable whatever Melbourne decides to do next.
The kitchen is bright, honest and properly practical, with crisp white cabinetry, generous bench space, tiled splashback, electric cooking and room for a casual dining setting. A separate laundry with its own trough sits alongside a bathroom where the shower and wide vanity handle the morning rush without fuss.
Both bedrooms come with built in robes. The main is generous and light, with a ceiling fan, its own split system and an outlook to the garden, while the second currently doubles as a study and guest room, which is exactly the flexibility a first home should offer.
Out the back, the personality really turns up. Festoon lights are strung above a wide terrace that steps down to lawn, fenced and gated for privacy, with a carport and roller door plus storage space alongside. Long evenings out here ask very little of you beyond a table, a bottle and good company.
Central Sunshine does the rest. Sunvale Community Park with its playground, skate park and barbecue shelters is a few minutes on foot, Sunshine Plaza and the Hampshire Road shops, cafes and restaurants are barely further, and Sunshine Leisure Centre is close at hand for laps, weights or a lazy Sunday in the water.
Families are well covered too, with Sunshine Harvester Primary School and Sunshine College North Campus both inside a kilometre, Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Primary School and Saints College nearby, and Sunshine Station, one of the west's key transport hubs, around a fifteen minute walk away for the run into the city.
For a first home buyer, this is a rare place to begin. A home with history, a garden, a frontage and a story already in progress. All you have to do is keep it going.
