As you enter this brand-new townhouse, the first thing you'll notice is the staircase, its warm timber treads seeming to float up the wall beside a softly lit handrail. Herringbone floorboards run the length of the ground level, three-metre ceilings lift every room, and generous panes of glass draw in light from all sides.

Near the entry, a study nook with a desk is ready for work-from-home days, and a powder room is close by for guests. Further along, a bedroom with built-in robes and its own ensuite suits visiting family, older children or anyone who'd rather leave the stairs to everyone else.

The hallway leads into the west-facing living and dining area at the rear, where the kitchen is a striking piece of design. Stone benchtops and a matching splashback glow beneath concealed lighting, timber-look cabinetry reaches to the ceiling, and the breakfast bar is finished with a sweeping curved cut-out. There's a gas cooktop, dishwasher and walk-in pantry too. The glass doors slide back to an alfresco deck, set beneath a pergola and wrapping around the side. It steps down to a private lawn, so the grown-ups can linger over food and drinks while the kids head off to the grass.

Upstairs, a generous retreat gives you somewhere else to spread out, and a desk, window seat and bespoke cabinetry make a lovely spot for homework or a quiet read. The main bedroom is positioned across the front with a wall of robes, a picture window and an ensuite with an oval mirror, floating timber vanity and rainfall shower. Two more bedrooms, one with a walk-in robe and one with built-in robes, share a bathroom where a fluted freestanding bath sits beside a frameless shower, with the toilet separate.

Ducted heating and air conditioning, a laundry, plenty of storage, a rainwater tank and a carport round things out in a family-friendly home where all 31 squares have been put to clever use.

Zoned for Tucker Road Bentleigh Primary School and Bentleigh Secondary College, it's close to Moorabbin Station, Moorabbin Reserve and Holmesglen Institute. Woolworths and other local stores are nearby, with Southland, Highett Shopping Centre and East Bentleigh's shops all within a short drive.
