Rich in local history and surrounded by peaceful natural beauty, Rosebank Cottage is a truly unique property where old-world charm meets modern family living. With a history dating back to 1864, this special home has strong ties to the pioneering days of Echuca and Moama, offering a lifestyle defined by character, space and a connection to nature.

Originally owned by James Maiden, the founder of Moama, Rosebank was later sold to William Boyes before passing to the Dorward family in July 1865, where it remained a family home for generations. The property is also connected to Captain George Dorward, a riverboat pioneer who helped chart the Murray River alongside Captain Cadell aboard the Lady Darling in the 1850s. Captain Dorward later commissioned the construction of the PS Rodney paddle steamer, adding another chapter to the property's fascinating history. Relocated from its original position on the banks of the Murray River in Moama, the home was rebuilt at its current Echuca location in 1996/97. While one section was reconstructed in brick to reflect the design of the original detached kitchen, the home has retained its distinctive character. More recently, renovations by the current owners have created a beautifully restored, functional family home that respects its heritage while offering the comforts of modern living.

Inside, four generous bedrooms are complemented by vaulted timber ceilings, solid Murray pine flooring and the warmth of two wood fireplaces. A sunroom provides a lovely space to relax and enjoy the garden outlook. The linen curtains let natural light flow through the home, with large timber windows creating a home nestled in nature. Outside, established gardens, a dam and an abundance of native birdlife create a peaceful setting, with neighbouring horses and sheep adding to the rural feel. With practical improvements throughout and plenty of space for families, animals and hobbies, Rosebank Cottage offers a lifestyle that is increasingly hard to find.
