This exceptional French farmhouse–inspired residence is a rare expression of architectural integrity, craftsmanship and quiet luxury. Designed by acclaimed local architect Clinton Krause and built by master builder Peter Fiume, the home commands uninterrupted northern views across rolling farmland to distant hills, creating a profound sense of privacy, scale and connection to the landscape. Set within 6,072sqm of meticulously landscaped grounds and surrounded by expansive farmland, this property is ideal for those wanting a low maintenance country retreat with a true rural feel.
Centred around an historic original cottage, the brand new residence unfolds as a collection of barn-like forms linked by a light-filled glass gallery. The result is a home that feels both grounded and expansive, honouring French country tradition while delivering a refined contemporary living experience.

The interiors reveal a deeply considered palette of natural materials and bespoke detailing. Italian herringbone oak floors, New Zealand wool carpets and Italian stone tiles provide warmth and tactility underfoot, while ceiling heights ranging from 2.7 metres to a dramatic 7 metres create moments of intimacy and grandeur throughout. Custom-made, sound-insulated double glazed windows frame the surrounding countryside and ensure complete comfort and tranquillity.

Every element has been individually crafted, from bespoke skirting boards, architraves and cornices to imported European door hardware and joinery. Window furnishings by O’Gormans Melbourne add tailored softness, while carefully curated lighting creates atmosphere and visual drama, including French Vox Populi Cluster of Shades, a Lustre Toulouse chandelier, Moroccan Selenite Crystal chandelier, San Sebastian pendants and additional Custom Lighting fittings.

The kitchen is a statement of form and function, designed for both serious cooking and elegant entertaining. A sculptural tower above the island bench incorporates reclaimed timber beams from the historic Daylesford Railway Bridge, anchoring the space in local provenance. Custom cabinetry is paired with Brazilian quartzite benchtops and splashbacks, premium European appliances, a Falcon dual fuel cooker, integrated refrigeration, inbuilt coffee machine and a fully equipped butler’s pantry.

An expansive barn-style living room forms the centre of the home, defined by soaring seven-metre ceilings, exposed Tasmanian oak beams and a bespoke solid oak entertainment unit. An open fireplace with a hand-carved Turkish limestone surround and black granite hearth provides a striking yet timeless focal point.

Accommodation is serene and luxurious. The main bedroom opens via French doors to a wisteria-draped porch and features custom wardrobes and a refined ensuite with dual vanities. Bathrooms throughout are appointed with Estonian silkstone basins, premium tapware, heated towel rails and underfloor heating. A powder room with a French inlaid bombe chest vanity and bespoke finishes offers a moment of refined indulgence, while a custom study with Tasmanian oak joinery and reeded glass doors provides a quiet, elegant workspace. The second and third bedrooms are spacious and opulent.

The home is fully insulated and engineered for year-round comfort with zoned in-slab hydronic heating, evaporative cooling and a wood-burning fireplace. Infrastructure is extensive and future-focused, including solar power, bore water, significant rainwater storage with advanced filtration, automated irrigation system that fully covers all areas of the property, generator and comprehensive services.

Outdoors, the property is fully fenced with custom steel gates, pergolas and vine structures. Manicured lawns, mature trees, extensive irrigation and a productive orchard create a private rural estate atmosphere, complemented by raised vegetable gardens. A substantial two-car garage and a separate large barn offer flexibility for further guest accommodation, collections or additional storage.

Located just 15 minutes from Ballarat, 20 minutes from Daylesford and approximately 90 minutes from Melbourne, this is a rare opportunity to acquire a truly bespoke rural residence of enduring quality — a home defined by restraint, provenance and timeless sophistication.
