Set in established gardens on a picturesque tree-lined street once known as Catherine Street, Catherine Cottage, circa 1850, has a special sense of history. Lovingly maintained and thoughtfully added to over the years, it brings together original period features and a distinctive sense of style.

Original details carry that history indoors, where a central hallway leads to two bedrooms and an updated bathroom. At the rear, an open plan layout reveals a series of inviting spaces, with a staircase providing a clever sense of separation. A library or home office features an open fireplace, extensive built-in bookshelves and a desk, while a dining area connects to the well-equipped kitchen with ample storage, dishwasher and a central island. The large living room has its own open fireplace, with French doors opening to a leafy alfresco area and garden.

Upstairs, the main bedroom offers a private retreat with a walk-in robe and ensuite. French doors open to a small balcony overlooking the garden, a charming vantage point from which to enjoy the leafy setting.

Well established and wonderfully private, the garden offers a peaceful retreat in this central urban setting.

Added features include a remote double garage with attic storage and easy access from the wide rear right of way, hydronic heating, split-system heating and cooling, laundry facilities, garden shed and water tanks.

Set in a leafy, sought-after street, the home is a stroll from Swan Street’s restaurants and bars, trams and East Richmond Station. The MCG and surrounding parklands are close by, with an easy trip into the city centre.
