Positioned within the tightly held Tyrone Foreshore precinct and tucked privately at the end of a quiet Magnolia Court cul-de-sac, this architectural residence is a rare offering of both design significance and Peninsula lifestyle appeal.

Designed by acclaimed architect Robinson Chen and completed in the early 1980s, 'Mikado' is a striking cubic brick home defined by its sliced-corner entrance and bold geometric form. The residence won an RAIA Award in 1982 and remains one of the firm's most recognised residential works.

Set on approximately 556sqm of land, the home's unique floorplan wraps around expansive decking, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor connection. Soaring ceilings and extensive windows flood the interiors with natural light, with windows thoughtfully positioned by the architect to capture optimal northern orientation and maximise natural light throughout the day. Every bedroom opens directly to the tranquil backyard via large sliding doors - enhancing the home's calming, Japanese-inspired inside-outside feel.

The floorplan comprises three bedrooms (or two plus study), all with built-in robes, and two bathrooms, including a private ensuite to the main bedroom. The main bathroom features a separate toilet for added functionality. A light-filled open-plan living and dining domain connects effortlessly with the modern kitchen and outdoor entertaining zones.

The landscaped rear garden is private and serene, complete a spa tucked discreetly into the setting - ideal for relaxing after a day at nearby Tyrone Beach, just moments away.

Currently operating as a successful holiday rental, the property offers immediate lifestyle enjoyment with proven income potential. A single carport and leafy, private frontage complete this distinctive coastal retreat.

A rare opportunity to secure a piece of award-winning architectural history in one of Rye's most sought-after foreshore pockets.
