'Calando Hill' is an extraordinary 100-acre lifestyle property capturing breathtaking views across the Pyrenees Ranges with uninterrupted outlooks to Mt Lonarch. Privately positioned and completely hidden from any public road, this remarkable residence sits at the heart of the land, offering total seclusion-so much so that even locals are often unaware it exists. Designed as a striking tribute to contemporary Australian architecture inspired by the traditional shearing shed, the home showcases an impressive 10m x 25m open-plan living zone, cleverly designed to create multiple inviting spaces that balance scale with warmth and intimacy.
At the centre of the home, a beautifully appointed new kitchen features stone benchtops, stainless steel appliances, a 900mm European oven and a butler's sink, seamlessly connecting with the expansive living areas. Downstairs, generous bedrooms (main with built-in robes) are complemented by polished floors and a stylish tiled bathroom, while quality timber joinery provides a stunning contrast to the light-filled interior. Statement lighting and a classic claw-foot bath add further character. The soaring pitched roofline enhances the sense of space, with a mezzanine level offering additional sleeping quarters, living zones, games area and storage. A dedicated study, office or craft room provides flexibility and could easily convert to a fourth bedroom, while the large, well-equipped laundry with shower and toilet offers practical access to the outdoors.
Encircling the home, a full wrap-around verandah creates multiple vantage points to take in the ever-changing landscape, from sweeping rural vistas to the striking Pyrenees backdrop. A salt water swimming pool provides the perfect setting for early morning laps or relaxed evenings under the stars.
The property is well-equipped with mains power, solar with battery storage, approximately 140,000 litres of tank water, a large garage/workshop, and a unique off-grid glamping setup. Centred around a vintage caravan, the beautifully presented accommodation includes a separate building with a full kitchen, private toilet and luxurious shower-ideal for guest stays or dual short-stay income.
The land itself is gently undulating, featuring two open paddocks suited to grazing or horses, while also offering potential for viticulture or other pursuits aligned with the region's Mediterranean climate. The southern 50 acres are securely fenced, while the northern 50 acres comprise natural timber and woodland, providing a haven for wildlife. Established fruit trees, vegetable gardens and three dams complete this exceptional lifestyle offering-perfect for those seeking privacy, versatility and a truly unique rural retreat.
