Welcome to Villa Basso, an extraordinary private sanctuary created for relaxed family living and effortless entertaining, where striking architecture, impressive proportions and magnificent established gardens come together in complete privacy. Completed in 2016, both the home’s kitchen and gardens have attracted media attention, including a feature on Open Homes Australia.

Spanning approximately 80 squares, the architect-designed residence showcases exceptional quality and meticulous attention to detail, combining industrial influences with the warmth of natural timbers and carefully considered artistic elements.
At the heart of the home, an impressive kitchen features dual Neff ovens, induction cooking and a substantial walk-in pantry, connecting seamlessly with expansive dining and living areas. A suspended fireplace provides a dramatic focal point, while a dedicated home cinema room creates another space to retreat and unwind. Extensive glazing draws the gardens into the interiors and opens the living areas to a large entertaining deck with an in-ground eight-person spa.

Beyond, magnificent tropical gardens envelop the home in a remarkable sense of seclusion. Meandering pathways weave through lush established planting to tranquil terraces and lawn areas before arriving at the superb resort-style pool precinct.

Designed for long summer days with family and friends, the fully tiled, self-cleaning and self-levelling saltwater pool incorporates a shallow swim-out area and both gas and solar heating. A substantial pool house completes the setting, incorporating a games and entertaining area, bar with refrigeration and Asko dishwasher, and a private bathroom, while a poolside gas firepit provides another inviting place to gather.

Accommodation is equally impressive. Privately positioned in its own wing, the generous main suite includes a balcony, dressing room and luxurious ensuite. Four additional robed bedrooms and two further bathrooms are separately zoned, complemented by a large fitted home office.
An extensive array of appointments includes individually zoned heating and cooling, solar electricity, integrated Sonos audio throughout the home and outdoor entertaining areas, cinema automation, ducted vacuum, plantation shutters, automated blackout blinds, instantaneous hot water and a fully irrigated garden. The pool and spa can be controlled remotely via app, while app-controlled intercom and entry systems, secure pedestrian access and an electric front gate lead to a triple garage.

Within walking distance of beautiful Number Sixteen Beach and a short drive from Rye’s bay beaches and shopping, the home is also ideally placed to enjoy the Mornington Peninsula’s golf courses, wineries, restaurants and hot springs. Exceptionally private yet designed for bringing people together, Villa Basso is an outstanding family residence and resort-style coastal retreat.
