Privately positioned in the heart of Pomonal and just moments from Halls Gap, Doondell Homestead extends across approximately 44 acres of picturesque land, offering a rare lifestyle opportunity that combines architectural design, natural beauty and complete tranquility.
A picturesque tree-lined driveway creates a striking first impression, leading you through peaceful surrounds to the homestead. Originally rich in character, the home has been thoughtfully enhanced with an architect-designed extension and renovation, delivering a seamless blend of charm and modern comfort.
Encircling the home is a wide wrap-around veranda, providing the perfect space to relax, entertain and take in the ever-changing outlook across the gardens and surrounding Grampians landscape.
Inside, the home is filled with warmth and style, highlighted by beautiful blackbutt flooring and a striking internal stone feature wall, reflecting the natural tones of the Grampians (Gariwerd) mountain range. The main living area features pitched ceilings, creating an impressive sense of space and volume while enhancing natural light throughout the home.
The residence comprises three spacious bedrooms, two with BIRs including a large master suite with ensuite, providing a comfortable and private retreat.
Designed to maximize its breathtaking setting, the home features expansive double-glazed windows that capture uninterrupted views to Mt William and Redmans Bluff, while allowing an abundance of natural light to fill the interiors and creating a strong connection to the surrounding landscape and wildlife.
At the heart of the home, the kitchen is well equipped with quality Smeg appliances, including a double oven with self-cleaning function, dishwasher and generous stone preparation areas-perfect for both everyday living and entertaining.
Year-round comfort is assured with a premium French Philippe Cheminee wood heater, known for its impressive heat output and efficiency, with ample firewood available on the property. A solar hot water system with gas backup further enhances efficiency.
Outdoors, the property continues to impress with two substantial dams. A large spring-fed dam, which has remained full throughout the current ownership (approximately 12 years), provides a reliable water source and supports a thriving ecosystem of freshwater clams, fish, and turtles. The established gardens and park-like surrounds are fully irrigated from dam water supply.
Infrastructure is well catered for with a large powered work shed, complete with ceiling fans, in addition to open bay storage-ideal for machinery, hobbies or further use.
The property is a haven for wildlife, with regular visits from emus, kangaroos, wallabies, deer, goannas and an array of native birdlife, creating a peaceful and immersive natural environment, particularly at sunrise and sunset.
Despite its private and serene setting, Doondell Homestead remains conveniently located close to Pomonal township, Halls Gap and within easy reach of larger regional centers.
This is a rare opportunity to secure a lifestyle property of scale, character and exceptional natural beauty in one of the Grampians' most tightly held locations.
