Typifying an approach to design where function and expression go hand-in-hand, this sun-drenched residence by LANDE Architects brings executive-calibre luxury with family sensibility to Elsternwick’s leafy heart. Beyond mature silver birches, Plume-designed gardens, and a façade defined by its gabled form, interiors weave craft and chic into an environment full of light, space, atmosphere, and joy; ready for a family to make its own.
A quiet lounge/fourth bedroom spills into a front yard staging sunrise colours, while a wide-open entrance hall signals the scale and airiness of spaces to come. Oversized windows span entire northern walls to cast ribbons of light across a superb rear section, with living and dining areas wrapping around a courtyard brilliant for drinks and barbecues under northern rays, among lush foliage, and in total privacy. App-controlled Fisher & Paykel appliances take hospitality prowess to new heights, with a gourmet kitchen offering swathes of high-grade granite, Espresso Cotto Zellige tiles, and exquisite cabinetry reaching from heated oak floor to soaring ceiling above. Enjoying a wealth of walk-in and built-in robe space, access to a roof storeroom, and a private, floor-heated ensuite wrapped in solid travertine, a first-class main bedroom headlines accommodation on its own second storey. A luxe central bathroom with a bathtub, plentiful robe space, and a backdrop of sweeping sunsets accompany two further bedrooms, while below, a garden-viewing office caters cleverly for home workdays.
Designed with care, executed with precision, and equipped to offer easy luxury long into the future, the home’s other highlights include statement stone and tiles from Artedomus, Dunlin wall sconces, feature skylights, electric block-out blinds, linen sheers, plush carpets, high-end door and hardware, alarm/video security, tank irrigation, solar and three-phase power, EV provisions, a concealed laundry, downstairs powder room, garage, and remote-gate driveway parking. Central to picturesque Elwood and Brighton foreshores, the verve of nearby St Kilda and Caulfield, and private schools that are among Melbourne’s very best, it’s no more than a short stroll to the green expanses of Elsternwick Park, trains and trams streamlining city commutes, and lively Elsternwick Village placed at street’s end.
